Animal Fighting Postures

Another great article on the history of China. This was a question I had. They use the above picture in their article which is how I found it. As Shanzen is going to be fighting I as the writer need to know more about these postures. (Not writing what I know) I know a good deal about Buddhism and QiGong but nothing much about Kung Fu and martial arts, beyond what I have seen from the great films.

Do all Buddhist monks kick butt?

No, not all Buddhist monks practice kung fu. But since all Buddhist monks believe that both body and mind must be cultivated, many practice some form of physical activity, including yoga! The monks of Shaolin originally began practicing their distinctive boxing techniques because their bodies had become weak from long meditation.

Space will not allow me to post them individually here. So here are the Tiger Pose and The Monkey.
